Pre-Assessment Concert Thursday, February 27, 2018 Battlefield High School Please arrive at BHS promptly at 6:00 PM in concert attire. The concert will begin at 7:00. Students are expected to stay until the conclusion of the concert; it is open to the public and will feature orchestras from Reagan, Bull Run and Battlefield! VBODA State Assessment Thursday, March 15, 2018 Patriot High School Assessment Performance: 1:50pm (Open to the public!) Students should wear concert attire to school on March 15th. They should bring a lunch from home. We will have time to eat in the classroom before leaving. Buses will leave at 12:00 and return to RRMS around 4:45pm. A permission form is attached and should be returned as soon as possible. We need 1-2 parent chaperones to accompany us on the bus. If you are interested, please e-mail me at your earliest convenience. We are excited to share that the 7th and 8th grade chamber orchestras will perform at the Music in the Parks competition series at Hershey Park this spring. This event will take place on Saturday, May 5. Students will perform at a high school in the morning and then will be taken to Hershey Park for an afternoon in the park.
This field trip is a privilege being offered to those students who are achieving and working at a high level in their music program. The criteria below needs to be met by each student in order for him/her to participate in the field trip: Students must maintain a “B” average in their music class and must not receive a “U” in conduct or effort in their music class. If a student does not meet these standards, then he/she will not be allowed to participate in the event. The fee for the trip is $125 which includes competition fee, park ticket, t-shirt, and bus transportation. The chaperone price is $40. The orchestra performs one concert in November. The orchestra is led by a different guest conductor each year in a variety of repertoire. The 2017 Junior Regional Orchestra concert will take place at Colgan High School on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Students will rehearse at the school on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 in preparation for the concert.
